Mayor's Taskforce For Jobs - Workforce Programme
Programme Overview
Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ), Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ) have received funding from the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) to bolster local employment opportunities. MTFJ is designed to support job seekers into employment and local business with their recruiting needs for full time, part time, seasonal work, casual jobs, apprenticeships, and work experience vacancies.
Through this initiative, Council is able to assist local businesses with recruitment, training, guidance and in some cases subsidies, to help take on new employees. While the programme has a specific focus on getting young people who are not in employment, education or training into sustainable employment, the programme will also assist jobseekers who are disadvantaged in the labour market.
