Replacing water connections - Timaru Road

Contract works are underway on Timaru Road to replace water connections that rely on the reservoir's pressure rising main with connections to the urban water system. This will improve the reliability of our urban network and help us control the pressure of our rising main.

The Contractor will use horizontal drilling technology to install the new pipeline and lateral connections, which will have minimal impact on State Highway 82. Some residents may experience brief water supply disruptions when they are connected to the urban water system.

The Contractor will work from Oxford Street to Caernarvon Street and are expected to finish the works by the end of August.
