Resident surveys are completed every two years and are used to measure our performance against Annual Plan and Long Term Plan measures.
They also give Council an understanding of public sentiment towards the services and facilities we provide.
Each survey is conducted by an external company, National Research Bureau, who survey a representative sample of the Waimate District. For the most recent survey a total of 330 people were surveyed with a spread as follows:
Area
| Number
|
---|
Hakataramea-Waihaorunga
| 30
|
Lower Waihao
| 40
|
Waimate
| 180
|
Pareora-0taio-Makikihi
| 80

Interviewing was mainly conducted by phone and quota sampling was used to ensure an even balance of male and female respondents.
This year, as it is increasingly difficult to obtain, in particular, young people by landline, National Research Bureau interviewed 30 residents face-to-face in the Waimate Ward.
