Stormwater

Council provides approximately 4km of stormwater pipes and some open channel in the Waimate township to collect and dispose of stormwater.

Council maintains and operates a stormwater collection system, which is channelled into the Waimate urban drainage scheme or smaller disposal soakpits in other urban areas.

The effective control of stormwater is necessary to protect the health and safety of the community and minimise property damage.
