Roadside Pest Plants

We have noticed an increase of roadside gorse and broom around the Waimate District that has been appearing.

Did you know?

Under the Environment Canterbury Pest Management Plan as a landowner in the Waimate District you are responsible for controlling gorse and broom on your adjoining roadside.

When road works have caused plant pests on the roadside, Council will control for up to 5 years.

Please tell us if you notice broom and gorse appearing after roadworks at roading@waimatedc.govt.nz
