Traffic Disruption - Gorge Road Sewer Main Renewal

Renewal of the sewer main on Gorge Road (SH82) between Tennant and Price Street was programmed for this financial year.

This is a 250m section of sewerage pipe renewal and was recently tendered on the open market.

The successful contractor is SouthRoads Ltd with GDC as the main sub-contractor.

Works will commence within the State Highway carriageway on Monday 31 March and is expected to take about a month to complete the renewal work.

The installation will be using trenchless technology, but there will be open excavations required where new manholes will be installed. This work will also require diversion of ‘live’ wastewater flows while the manholes are being installed.

There will be some traffic diversions in place during these works and we apologise in advance for any minor disruptions this may cause.
