The Waimate District Council is advising Hook- Waituna Rural Water Scheme consumers, in the following area, Upper Hook region down to Allen Street and the Timaru road area to boil all drinking water.
A recent monitoring sample has shown the presence of possible bacterial contamination in the treated water. This is currently being investigated.
Council advises a rolling boil of at least a minute for all water used for drinking, food preparation, and personal use, such as cleaning teeth, until further notice.
