Message from the Mayor - COVID-19 L4 Lockdown
As COVID-19 has once again re-emerged in our country, albeit in Auckland, it’s important we do our bit as a district to help stop any possible spread of this virus in its tracks. We’ve all been here before, and I know we will all pull together again and do our part to stay home during this lockdown.
For the next three days, all Council facilities remain closed, including the rural recycling stations, public toilets and the resource recovery park. These closures will be reviewed following further announcements from the Government on Friday, and as further information comes to hand.
In the meantime, please continue to follow the advice of health officials, keep 2m apart when undertaking physical exercise, visiting the supermarket and/or seeking urgent medical care, and be sure to wear a mask when you leave the house.
Be kind Waimate District and remember, we’re all in this together.
Mayor Craig Rowley
