Waimate District Council will mark the coronation of King Charles III with a tree planting on Saturday 6 May.
The event will be held at Knottingley Park and Arboretum, in the formal area, at 11am. The public are invited to join the Mayor and other elected representatives to celebrate this historic occasion.
Highlighting the significance of the event, Mayor Craig Rowley said, “Planting an oak tree in honour of King Charles III is befitting of his legacy as a champion of environmental protection.’’
The planting of an oak tree and the installation of a ceremonial plaque will be followed by a brief speech by the Mayor.
