This year is turning out to be an important one for the Waimate District. However, even with all the challenges we face, I feel optimistic. As we map the future of our district with the Long Term Plan 2025-2034, I’m confident that Council, staff and our community will work together to build a better tomorrow.
Caravan/Boat Storage at Waimate Lakes
Short of space for your caravan or boat at home? We’ve had many people ask us for storage at the lakes, but we couldn’t offer it due to not having staff present during the off-season. That’s changed and Waitangi East Campground at Waimate Lakes now offers caravan and boat storage year-round.
Anzac Day Services
6am – Hakataramea Dawn Service, Hakataramea Cenotaph; 7am – Waimate Dawn Service, Victoria Park Memorial Gates; 8am – Southburn Service, Southburn War Memorial; 9am – St Andrews Service, St Andrews War Memorial; 10:30am – Waimate Civic Service, Waimate Event Centre and parade to War Memorial Clock Tower; 2pm – Ted’s Bottle Service, Waihao Forks Hotel.
