No Shortage Of Christmas Spirit
Hundreds of community donated gifts will bring smiles to children and families throughout the Waimate District this Christmas, with Operation Christmas Child once again proving a huge success.
Mayoress Lyn Stringer, who leads the initiative in partnership with Community Link Waimate, said she was once again blown away by how many presents had been donated.
“We know these are tough financial times and we are unfortunately seeing more families in need,” she said.
“But once again the Waimate community has stepped up and ensured every child gets to open a present on Christmas morning.”
The presents will be wrapped and distributed by Community Link with 95 families to receive the parcels, all of whom are within the Waimate District.
